Blessed = Power = With great power comes great responsibility

When I was growing up in Lebanon and I saw bombs and shootings, explosions I questioned why this was happening , I always felt blessed that I was saved and not taken , I made it my mission to be good because I was given this gift that I try to share with others, I'm tired of not being understood and taken for granted ,
I'm just trying to be the best I can be. once again I ask
WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD PEOPLE GONE ?
Like in the cheesy words of Spiderman, With great power comes great responsibility

Luke 17:7-10

"Suppose one of you had a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Would he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, 'Come along now and sit down to eat'? Would he not rather say, 'Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink'? Would he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'

As I take a look back at my personal school experiences I realize life is at times very difficult, for many of us we feel as if we never fit in. I realize that the road less traveled, and doing the right thing is always hard. Whenever I look at anyone, especially a
person of a visible minority, I try to empathize with them, Is anyone judging them ? Why do we do this ? Is it right ?
This


world is at times very cruel in judging others, we don't give a


person a chance before placing them in a category, EMO, Hip-hop ,
etc.
Sometimes we just go along with our friends without creating our own opinion.


When I first came to Canada and


couldn't speak English and people heard my Arabic


accent they assumed my family and I were terrorists. Why do


they say these things ? Why are people racist ? I asked myself



For many years I was angry, angry at racist and ignorant people, then I realized that my anger was only affecting me and not them, It was eating me up and nothing was changing. So I began to established my own views and lifestyle that I would like share with you. It is an acronym called REAL ., The R stands for Respect: respect to all, everyone around us, including ourselves respect must given in order to be received , by doing negative things such as smoking and drinking we are not respecting ourselves
The E stands for . Empathy: the simple idea of putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, feeling what they feel, seeing what they see. never putting anyone down. Imagine what it's like to actually be that person
and Finally the last letters And Love: Love to all, the idea of love has lost its true meaning, love can be the ultimate understanding , or acceptance of one another. In order to live in a great society we must all become REAL and care about one another regardless of colour, gender, race or religion. I realize


now that we must see God in everyone around us. We are all brothers and sisters and created by the same GOD. We are blessed to live in one of the greatest countries in the world and lucky to have the people of the world represented in a small area like the GTA.
I cannot change the world but by changing myself and my views in turn the world will follow.
do unto others as you would have them do unto you

The man in the Arena...INVICTUS..I am the master of my fate: The Captain of my soul.

I saw Invictus yesterday, really inspirational.....Nelson Mandela..WOW what a man...I looked up the poem..."Invictus" is a short poem by the English poet William Ernest Henley which was with Mandela, The title comes from the fact that Mandela had the poem written on a scrap of paper on his prison cell while he was incarcerated. The movie portrays that he gave the captain of the rugby team this poem:

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

but in reality it was Theodore Roosevelt's "The Man in the Arena":

I'm still looking for the good people but last night I was robbed, Christmas Presents and other things (North York)

This goes out to the person/people who broke into my garage last night and stole my baby daughter's Christmas presents, Christmas cards/cash, my small business cash float, Gps unit, school bag and even my cologne. What goes around comes around, I learned my lesson not to leave my things in my locked car in my locked Garage. I understands times are tough but we are lucky to live in the greatest country in the world, We have many programs, where else can we lose our jobs and get a paycheque(UI), even if times are even rougher we have welfare, Osap, etc. Oh well, time to rebuild, I'm sad and upset but I try to look at all the things we are fortunate to have, hey I have a car and a house. If you find it in the goodness of your heart, please break back in, return the stuff and lockup on the way out and no questions will be asked, may the Lord forgive those who do not know.
